Description
The history of the MICHELIN tire manufacturer began in 1829, with the marriage of Edouard Daubree and the niece of the Maintosh scientist, Elizabeth Pugh Barker. It didn't take long for Edouard Daubree and his cousin Aristide Barbier to start producing rubber balls, automotive parts and mechanisms, valves, piping elements and gaskets in their new center in Clermont-Ferrand. Years later, Edouard Daubree's son took over the family business, and in 1889 Edouard Michelin took over the management of the company where his brother worked.
