Auston tires are manufactured by the Chinese company Prinx Chengshan Tire Company Ltd., having been launched in 1999. The brand name is an acronym for AUSTRALIA NO. ONE, and it now has a portfolio of 33 models of tires for cars, SUVs, 4x4s and vans and 49 models of tires for buses and trucks. Prinx Chengshan Tire is a joint venture between Prinx Investment Company Ltd. based in Hong Kong and Chengshan Group based in Rongcheng, China. Since February 2006, Austone has accelerated its access to the world market following the joint venture agreement between Cooper Tire & Rubber Company and Shandong Chengshan Group to become Cooper Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Company Ltd. (CCT), and since November 2014, Prinx Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Company Ltd. has repurchased 65 percent of the shares, ushering in a new era of development.
