Bridgestone launched the Turanza T005 asymmetrical tread summer tyre in 2017 with the stated aim of providing options for a wide audience and covering the growing demand in this sector for premium tyres. The Turanza T005 replaces the Turanza T001 EVO and joins the innovative DriveGuard in covering the European car tyre market. The new tyre, developed and produced in Europe, offers drivers improved wet performance and fuel economy combined with high mileage. Wide transverse grooves and optimised void/full distribution in the tread contact spot area contribute to the production of highly efficient water drainage. Using a new mixing technology, Bridgestone's patented NanoPro-Tech polymer is blended into a compound with a high silicon dioxide content to help maximise wear resistance, wet grip and fuel efficiency. Internal tests by manufacturer Bridgestone confirm the improved performance of the Turanza T005 compared to the Turanza T001 EVO3: approximately 10% longer life with a significant improvement in wet steering, dry braking and rolling resistance. The Bridgestone Turanza T005 offers drivers an EU label with Level A for wet grip and Level B for rolling resistance, and for the sizes selected in series it offers A/A quality performance. The BRIDGESTONE Turanza T005 range of tyres is available in 114 sizes from 185/60 R15 84H to 275/40 R20 102Y.
