The tread of these Continental tyres benefits from innovative technology that optimises braking performance on both dry and wet surfaces. The 3D grooves efficiently disperse water, have a high protection against aquaplaning and also give the whole package exceptional stability. These grooves with which the ContiPremiumContact 2 are fitted have a deeper part for good braking on wet surfaces and a shallower one for better braking on dry roads. How does it all work? The shallower part offers greater stability of the tread blocks and better contact with the road, hence a shorter braking distance on dry surfaces. Under high stress, the shape of the blocks does not change so that the tyres have maximum contact with the road. The uniform contact pressure provides maximum tractive force transmission efficiency. The deeper part of these 3D super grooves makes the edge of the tread blocks sharp, which allows water to be cut off from the road surface. The special shape of the 3D grooves of these summer tyres are specially built for good resistance to aquaplaning through the different depths that form a whirlwind effect as the water passes.
