With the ContiSportContact 5 MOE tyres, the control has never been sportier and the driving pleasure unlimited thanks to the excellent grip. The tread design and the macroblocks of the tyre's outer shoulder provide a larger contact surface, which adapts optimally to the road surface, providing improved road grip and thus more safety when cornering and shorter braking distances in all weather conditions. When braking, the tyre has a high natural frequency inside the compound. The short-chain polymers in the Black Chilli rubber compound, from which the ContiSportContact 5 MOE tyre is made, react to this braking frequency and thus ensure optimal energy absorption. The resulting heat shortens the braking distance on wet and dry roads. Also, at a constant speed, the vibrations in the compound are significantly lower. The long-chain polymers in the Black Chilli compound can release the absorbed energy better, resulting in considerably reduced rolling resistance. Thus, the tire runs more smoothly and stays cool, for a longer distance traveled and lower fuel consumption. The MOE marking on the sidewall of the tire represents that this is a runflat tire optimized for Mercedes cars, being also original equipment for them. It is currently produced in 11 types.
