Continental SportContact 6 tyres are ultra-performance asymmetrically profiled summer tyres designed for high-performance and sports cars, which allow drivers to explore the car's performance limits while providing an adequate reaction to the limits reached primarily by the driver's own abilities. The Continental SportContact 6 tyres will replace the SportContact 5P, being credited with a 14 percent improvement in steering precision, 11 percent improvement in dry handling, 7 percent in durability and comfort, 4 percent in overall grip and 2 percent in wet grip compared to the predecessor. These characteristics are supported by three specific elements, a super-elastic rubber compound, Black Chili, characterized by maximum grip in all directions and being soft enough to mold on uneven road surfaces at the nanoscopic level, a textile wrapping tape under the tread, with a new Aralon 350 synthetic material, made from braiding two aramid wires with a nylon thread, having the role of preventing tire deformation up to 350 km per hour and for improving braking, handling and directional stability performance, an improved tread profile, achieved by Force Vectoring and based on Macro Blocks, ensures better steering precision and resistance to lateral forces when cornering. It will be available in 41 sizes, with widths ranging from 225 to 335 mm and with rim diameters grouped mainly in the popular 19 and 20-inch categories, but strongly increasing in the 21 to 23-inch segments which featured 11 sizes out of 41. SportContact6 tyres are Continental's new flagship and are the sportiest on-road tyre ever made. Continental expects an increased level of interest from original equipment customers, with 27 sizes currently under development.
