Description

The Davanti Protoura Sport is an asymmetrical UHP summer tyre designed for high-performance sports cars, being developed to achieve a more efficient interface between the road surface and the car, through which the vehicle's high-level performance is transmitted directly to the road surface. The asymmetrical tread benefits from an advanced design with three wide ribs separated by large channels and three-dimensional interlocking block formations that eliminate slippage by providing mechanical traction in a straight line and cornering. The solid continuous centre rib transfers steering forces to the tyre structure and maximises the contact surface with the road, thus ensuring high-speed stability and centred steering response. The circumferential inclinations of the rib edges have been designed to provide the Protoura Sport with a more linear steering response and progressive handling by reducing tread displacement and supporting lateral forces. Under the longitudinal force, the ridged and serrated edges of the shoulder blocks adhere to the road, providing effectively focused braking force. To minimise rolling noise, the Protoura Sport's outer grooves have been designed with narrow notches. They act as shock absorbers that compress airflow and neutralise overlapping sound waves. The innovative tread pattern features an intelligent water management system, which controls the flow of water at the tyre's contact spot. Wide circumferential grooves remove water from the longitudinal surface of the road contact area, while a network of interconnected inner transverse grooves achieves lateral flow, forcing water to be discharged laterally.
