The new RainSport 3 summer tyres developed by major tyre manufacturer UNIROYAL incorporate new technologies to deliver high performance in any summer conditions. Shark Skin technology removes water faster off the track through circular grooves to reduce the risk of aquaplaning. This line of Uniroyal RainSport 3 summer tyres enjoys an asymmetrical non-directional profile, but is optimised to also incorporate the advantages of a directional profile. The previous Uniroyal RainSport 2 summer tyre model was declared the best in the wet a few years ago and still outperforms new tyre models in terms of wet performance. Thus, the Uniroyal RainSport 3 comes as an improvement on the previous model and promises to outperform the previous model in tests in terms of land handling, reduced rolling noise and traction on any surface. The Shark Skin technology ensures that at a speed of 80 km-h, crossing a surface covered with an 8 mm film of water, 30 liters of water per second are eliminated to avoid aquaplaning. With many rainy days in the summer between April and October, this technology proves to be a lifesaver and ensures a safe journey to any destination. This new profile incorporates both advanced features of the asymmetrical pattern and important aspects of the old directional V-shaped model. The continuous performance rib in the inner shoulder area of these tyres in summer results in high levels of handling, stability and grip on dry roads. The multiple outward-facing grooves and 2 deep circumferential grooves discharge a higher amount of water per second to increase grip on wet circuits. The new asymmetrical profile construction generates uniform rigidity to increase handling and ensure equal wear and longevity.
