Winter tyre CONTINENTAL WinterContact TS 860 185/55 R14 80 T - D B 71 B

Description

Designed to replace the well-known Winter Contact TS850 launched in 2012, the Continental Winter Contact TS860 premium directional winter tires not only build on its safety performance and successful abilities, but even outperform it in almost every area, with significant improvements in wet or icy braking and snow handling and traction, providing maximum safety in winter conditions for compact and mid-size cars. This superior performance has been achieved through the use of new technologies. The first improvement designed by Continental is a new, high-silicon compound called Cool Chilli. By implementing a new mixing technology as well as fine-tuning of chemical reactions, Continental has been able to raise the silicon dioxide content in the tire from 120 units per tire to more than 200, which gives the material much better micro flexibility at low temperatures, leading to better interaction and grip with the road. The second technology, Snow Curve, is based on the tread pattern. This is a directional model, with a higher number of blocks and edge blades, totaling more than 2.5 meters of edges in the tire footprint. These two features ensure better grip, which means greater force transmission in snow and ice. The third technology, Liquid Layer Drainage, is not visible, being achieved by a system of multi-channel vertical grooves combined with horizontal grooves at the bottom of the blocks, to direct water away from them, towards the main grooves of the tread. This is especially useful on surfaces with low grip, such as ice, as it creates an efficient water flow channel, allowing the tire to have good contact with the ground. The WinterContact TS860 winter tires are available in 36 sizes, with widths between 155 to 225 mm,
