Description

The major Michelin tyre manufacturer comes out ahead with the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tyres for performance and racing cars, built to offer the highest levels of performance in all sporty driving conditions. The technological rubber compounds used in the construction of these Michelin tyres offer up to 2 times the life of competitors. Michelin Pilot Super Sport come as factory equipment for many performance car models including the limited edition Ferrari 599 GTO, Ferrari's fastest car. Developed for drivers who are aware of how much tyres influence the car's safety and performance levels, this range of summer tyres sets new standards for traction and handling on any wet or dry circuit. This generation of summer tyres offer up to 12 per cent higher level of handling than other competitors and are built on the technologies used in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring, delivering consistent performance and excellent longevity. While the importance of tyre endurance is not immediately apparent, Michelin set excellent records at Le Mans in 2010: it completed 46 consecutive laps on a single set of tyres, which means almost 643 km at an average speed of 241 km-h.
